New season of Ex On The Beach: Is this the trashiest reality TV yet

About to hit our screens is the most low-rent, morality-free, scuzz-bag reality show of all time.
It’s on a par with Big Brother and Geordie Shore, in fact some of the characters have previously appeared on those gross-out, who-mind’s-a-bit-of-full-frontal-nudity shows.
Ex On The Beach arrives on our shores courtesy of MTV. And you’re going to love it.
The star, if she can be called such, is likely to be Jemma Lucy, a trashy twenty-something covered in tattoos, including a couple on the side of her face.

She’s already provided a couple of headlines for the British tabloids with her on-screen AND off-screen antics, which have helped to promote the show — and which presumably is exactly why she got the gig.
Because she’s certainly not famous, or at least she wasn’t until she started going out with Kirk Norcross of The Only Way Is Essex fame.
That peculiar, scripted show, featuring a set of good looking people living near London who when they’re not in the sack mainly just seem to bitch about each other, is somehow now in its 18th season.
Ex On The Beach is a baby at just four seasons, but the last one was so spectacularly horrific that season five was commissioned instantly and past participants brought back.

Jemma, a 28-year-old from Manchester, appeared in the British gossip columns overnight, defending her honour after Gaz Beadle claimed she took advantage of him on the FIRST NIGHT of filming in Thailand.
He said he’d regretted it and was drunk, though Jemma fired back: “At the time it certainly didn’t feel like Gaz regretted sleeping with me and it very much felt mutual,” Jemma texted the Daily Mirror.
“Personally I had a great time, and again in the morning; it was a great experience.”

As is the way of things, the series is already wrapped up, and the guys are back in Britain and facing the music.
Poor Gary was livid that the news had already been leaked back so his on/off girlfriend Charlotte Crosby was able to stew on the information and decide she didn’t want to be a part of his life any more.
He told Digital Spy: “I wanted to come back and say, ‘Look, I want to tell you exactly what happened before it comes out’. But because that person already knew about it f*****g weeks earlier, they’d built up their anger and it spoiled a lot of things.”
Of course, having been on Geordie Shore, which filmed a couple of wild series in Australia, he should really have known better,

Jemma, since she got back, has been posing up a storm in a bikini, ‘struggling to contain her cleavage’ in the sleazy new internet style of things, and locking lips with a mystery male in Liverpool.
To say the history of Ex On The Beach is convoluted is an understatement but basically this time round Chloe Goodman and Liam Lewis are back from the first series, Gaz and Jess Impiazzi from the second, and Jemma, Jordan Davies and Stephen Bear from the third.
Olivia Walsh is a survivor from series four, and the idea of the show is that the guys will all be joined by their exes, which include, naturally, other contestants from previous shows.
Phew.

Anyway, we turned for help to NewsCorp’s National TV Editor Tiffany Dunk, who surprised us by confessing she was a devotee and admits she hasn’t missed a season.
She says: ‘Jemma got famous for being the “ex” of one of the contestants on series three [Kirk]. Basically the premise of the show is that you get a bunch of single no-names who will do anything on camera on a holiday.
“Then each day they’re sent down to the beach where one of their exes will swim in to cause a commotion in the house.
“They all shag each other, the guys are all vile and the girls have an extraordinary amount of plastic surgery. It’s the lowest of low brow and I totally love it.
