It began with Race 2, then there was Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani, Chennai Express and she got lucky the fourth time with Bhansali’s Ram-Leela. And now, three years later, Samantha Ruth Prabhu is ruling the roost, as 4 of her films have claimed to be blockbusters. They have entered the million dollar club at the box office. Now, isn’t that a great thing to have in common? So what are these films you ask?
The first hit release of 2016 for Samantha was Theri with Vijay and Amy Jackson. She played Vijay’s wife in the movie. This movie shattered records on its opening day at the worldwide Box office, collecting Rs 28.96. The movie went on to reportedly collect a whopping Rs 140 crore in 50 days at the worldwide box office. In fact, the movie went on to break Rajinikanth’s Enthiran record in its opening weekend.
This movie is about time travel and a mysterious watch that allows you to go back in time. The film features Suriya in a triple role and also had Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen in lead roles. The film managed to rake in Rs 100 crore within 18 days. Reportedly, the movie had earned Rs 19.22 crore on its first day. The film was praised for its visual cinematography and its gripping story line. Of course, Suriya was especially praised for his portrayal of three different characters.
This romantic comedy starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithin Reddy in lead roles. The movie opened to great reviews which was a big deal considering, the movie didn’t feature superstars. The movie went on to collect Rs 50 crore in 8 days.

And now her latest movie starring Jr NTR, Mohanlal, Nithya Menen and Samantha Ruth Prabhu has entered the Rs 100 crore club just within seven days of its release. It opened to phenomenal reviews. On its first day, it went on to collect Rs 20.43 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. It has done phenomenally well even in US and has gone on to collect about Rs 10 crore approximately.
