Engg College Girl Died On Karur Engg College Tamilnadu

K. Sonali (22),  a third-year civil engineering student of Karur Engineering College in Tamil Nadu, was clubbed to death inside a classroom by her senior Udayakumar on Tuesday.
The incident comes two months after IT professional Swathi was hacked to death at a railway station in Chennai by a man for rejecting him.
Udayakumar, a fourth year student, barged into the class while a lecture was on and hit Sonali on the head indiscriminately with a wooden club. She was rushed to a local hospital and later shifted to a bigger hospital in Madurai where she was declared brought dead.
Sathish Kumar (24), assistant professor, who tried to intervene was also injured, has also been admitted to a  hospital.
Video of the crime shot by local media shows gory scenes of blood splattered floor of the classroom. Sonali's classmates, who witnessed the attack were horrified and fled the scene
Karur police later arrested Udayakumar from the campus and said he was drunk when they found him.
The Hindu reports that Sonali had rejected a proposal from Udayakumar, quoting police sources. She had also reportedly ignored his calls to her mobile phone on several occasions.
The Hindustan Times adds Sonali and Udaykumar knew each other, but she started avoiding him after he was suspended a few days ago.
On the day of the attack, Udayakumar had met her at the college canteen and was furious that she had had ignored her.
He followed her to the classroom and attacked her there after an argument.
Udayakumar had reportedly stopped attending classes since the beginning of this academic year.
Sonali had lost her father recently and is survived by a mother, who works in Chennai. Her relatives have blamed the college for failing to ensure security of students
